This high energy combination of Kung fu, special effects and horror proved to be another ouststanding success for Harvest and efeectively created an entire sub-genre in the world of Hong Kong filmmaking. Sammo stars as Cheung the Brave, a local hero, whose specialty is to spend the night in haunted houses. When his conniving wife hires a Taoist priest to lure him into a trap which will either scare him to death or bring about his demise at the hands of living corpses, he teams up with a rival priest to do battle with deadly opponents from both this world and the next.
